Description
Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a computer-animated series from Lucasfilm Animation set between the films Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. The concept came from George Lucas, Dave Filoni served as the project's supervising director, and Kevin Kiner composed the music.
The series premiered in 2008; five seasons aired on Cartoon Network through 2013, an abbreviated sixth season was released on Netflix in 2014, and the concluding seventh season came out on the Disney+ service in 2020. The series builds on Genndy Tartakovsky's earlier short-form animated Clone Wars.
The show explores the course of the Clone Wars in detail, depicting the Republic, the Jedi Order, and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and introduces many characters to the franchise, among them Ahsoka Tano and clone captain Rex. Its storylines are continued directly in the series Rebels and The Bad Batch.
