Seizure of the gas giants Obri and Mawr

25,793–25,792 BBYDate rangeLast checked: 23 October 2026

Following the destruction of Fury Station, the Infinite Empire captured both of the system's gas giants, Obri and Mawr, along with their moons.

Description

Both gas giants belonged to the Settled Worlds of the Tython system, the colonies that grew up after Tythans who did not wield the Force left the planet itself. The loss of Fury Station at Furies Gate deprived the system of its forward line and opened the way for the Rakata to the inner worlds. By occupying Obri and Mawr together with their moons, the Infinite Empire gained strongholds deep within the system. The sequence of events, the destruction of the outpost at Furies Gate, then the capture of the giants, and only then the strike against Tython, was recorded in the journal of the Je'daii Master Daegen Lok. The offensive against Tython, however, was blunted: the Je'daii and the forces of the Settled Worlds acted together, and the invasion grew into a protracted campaign with battles for Shikaakwa and Ska Gora. By this time dominance in the system had already passed to the Rakata, whose Predor Skal'nas was seeking the Infinity Gate on Tython.
