Description
Star Wars Rebels is an animated series from Lucasfilm Animation set between the films Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. It premiered on October 3, 2014, with the hour-long television film Spark of Rebellion on Disney Channel; regular episodes aired on Disney XD over four seasons from October 2014 to March 2018.
The series follows a small crew that opposes the Galactic Empire in the years before an organized Rebel Alliance exists. At the center of the story are the crew of the ship Ghost and a teenager who discovers his connection to the Force; the show introduced characters to the franchise who later also appeared in live-action productions.
Rebels continues the creative line of The Clone Wars, draws on the work of the same team, and connects the animated stories to the events of the original trilogy. The series was nominated for an Emmy Award.
