Kamino

Kamino is a planet entirely covered by ocean, above which rain falls and storms rage almost without pause. The Kaminoan settlements are white streamlined cities on tall stilts raised above the waves; the largest of them is Tipoca.

The Kaminoans were renowned for their skill in growing and modifying living organisms and accepted commissions to create clones. Under a secretly placed order, an army was prepared here for the Republic: a bounty hunter was taken as the template, and his copies matured at an accelerated rate and underwent training right in the city's complexes.

Information about the planet had been erased from the Jedi archives, and it was discovered only during an investigation shortly before the start of the Clone Wars. Later the Separatist forces attempted to destroy Kamino's production lines, and after the establishment of the Empire the production complexes were shut down and destroyed.
