Rise of the First Order
Warning: this entry reveals minor plot details.
On the edges of the galaxy, a military organization grew out of the remnants of Imperial forces and challenged the New Republic.
Description
The foundation of the future organization was formed by Imperial forces that withdrew into the Unknown Regions after Endor along routes charted in advance. The withdrawal was directed by the Empire's Counselor Gallius Rax, while the idea of building a stronger and “purer” state belonged to Grand Admiral Rae Sloane; together with Commandant Brendol Hux she took the lead of the new structure. Formally, the organization came into being around 21 ABY, and it publicly announced itself in the year 29. The First Order had no permanent capital: the Supreme Leader's authority was exercised from a mobile headquarters. The fleet and army were built in secret, circumventing the Galactic Concordance, which prohibited arms deliveries; stormtroopers were raised from childhood. Funds were obtained through front organizations within the Republic itself: Amaxine warriors financed the cartel of Rinnriyin Di, and the profits were funneled back through shell companies into building the fleet. A number of Centrist senators, including Lady Carise Sindian, worked for the Order from within.
