Exile of Luke Skywalker

43 ABYExact dateLast checked: 23 October 2026

Chief of State Natasi Daala accused the Grand Master of dereliction of duty and sent him into exile, and Kenth Hamner became acting Grand Master.

Description

The Second Galactic Civil War ended with the death of Darth Caedus, and Natasi Daala took the helm of the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances. Two years after the end of the war she held the Grand Master personally responsible for failing to stop his student's fall and to prevent the destruction caused by the war. The punishment was exile. Master Kenth Hamner was appointed Acting Grand Master: a native of Corellia who had served in the New Republic's joint defense forces and then trained under Skywalker himself. During the war with the Yuuzhan Vong he had served as liaison between the order and the government and sat on the High Council. His tenure proved short. Hamner kept to a soft line in relations with Daala, while most of the masters demanded a firm response, especially after the siege of the Jedi Temple. In 44 ABY the council removed him, and his attempt to prevent starfighters from launching to aid Skywalker ended in a duel in which Hamner was killed.
