Kashyyyk

Kashyyyk is a forest planet in the Mid Rim, known for its wroshyr trees, which grow hundreds of meters tall. Wookiee settlements are built right in the canopies and on the trunks, while the lower levels of the forest are occupied by dangerous predators. The planet lies near an important trade route.

The native inhabitants, the Wookiees, are distinguished by great physical strength and advanced woodworking and metalworking technology; their units used bowcasters and ground vehicles.

At the end of the Clone Wars a major battle unfolded on the planet's coastal shallows, in which Republic troops together with the Wookiees repelled an offensive by the droid army; here, too, the execution of Order 66 caught one of the members of the Jedi Council. Under the Empire the planet was occupied, and its inhabitants were enslaved en masse and taken away for forced labor.
