Republic operation against the Nihil

The Nihil attack on the Republic Fair on Valo and the end of the struggle against the Drengir allowed the Republic to move from defense to offense. The joint anti-pirate campaign of the Republic Defense Coalition and the Jedi Order was named Operation Counterpunch; overall command was entrusted to Master Avar Kriss. Instead of responding to individual raids, Republic forces began systematically tracking down and destroying the enemy's bases. In the first three months, battles took place on Carlac, Magavin, and in the Draydon Nebula; having suffered losses, Nihil units were forced to scatter, and the campaign was considered an undoubted success. Marchion Ro, who was hiding from pursuit, responded with a series of surprise attacks on various systems, forcing the Republic to spread its forces thin. In this way he prepared the main blow, which led to the fall of Starlight Beacon, after which the advantage gained during the operation was lost.
