Attack on the Republic Fair

After the Battle of Kur the Nihil were considered defeated, and they spent several years gathering their strength. Meanwhile, as part of her Great Works, Chancellor Lina Soh organized the Republic Fair on Valo: the capital, Lonisa City, was rebuilt and given a new spaceport, preparations were overseen by coordinator Samera Ra-oon, the regasa of the Togruta, Elarec Yovet, was the guest of honor, and the Jedi Order took a very extensive part in the celebration. In advance, saboteurs disabled Valo's communications tower by planting Drengir spores there. The Padawan Ram Jomaram discovered traces of the sabotage but was detained by security as an intruder and did not manage to pass on a warning. On the morning of the fair's second day, Storms under Pan Eyta and Lourna Dee entered the system by way of Paths, bypassing the security cordon, and began bombarding the defenseless celebration. Jedi in Vectors managed only to partially damage the bomb bays of the ship Elegencia; the turning point came with the arrival of the Royal Togruta Fleet, after which Eyta took his flagship away along a Path, and the remaining Nihil units were destroyed by reinforcements. Valo was left devastated, and hundreds of thousands died. An emergency session of the Galactic Senate was convened, the Chancellor asked Stellan Gios to lead the response to the Nihil, and the raiders themselves, having returned to their base on Grizal, pressed for continuing the offensive.
