Rakatan Empire invasion

The Infinite Empire of the Rakata subjugated a significant part of the galaxy long before the Republic emerged. Its ships and devices were powered by the Force, so the Empire needed Force-sensitive beings and sent out Force Hounds to find them: trained slaves who sought out new worlds and brought the fleet after them. When information about Tython reached the Empire's rulers, combat formations were sent to the system. The Rakata counted on a quick conquest: they surpassed the system's inhabitants in technology and had never before encountered organized resistance from Force wielders. Instead, the invasion grew into a long war that exhausted both sides. For the Je'daii Order it meant having to adopt the enemy's combat techniques and weapons, which undermined its own doctrine of balance.
