The High Republic: Into the Dark

Into the Dark is a canon young adult novel by Claudia Gray, published by Disney–Lucasfilm Press on February 2, 2021, as part of the multimedia initiative Star Wars: The High Republic.

The book belongs to the initiative's first phase and unfolds during the same days as Light of the Jedi: the galaxy is shaken by a disaster in hyperspace. The protagonist is the Padawan Reath Silas, a scholar and archivist by temperament, who is sent from Coruscant to the untamed frontier against his own wishes. Together with his companions, he ends up on a long-abandoned space station, where the Jedi have to work out its origins and nature.

The novel is part of the shared network of first-phase works and is connected to the storylines of Light of the Jedi, as well as to a number of comics from the era. For Claudia Gray, it is one of several works written for The High Republic.
