Dark Nest III: The Swarm War

Dark Nest III: The Swarm War is a novel by Troy Denning, the third and final book of The Dark Nest Trilogy. It was published by Del Rey on December 27, 2005; the abridged audio version was read by Jonathan Davis.

The story belongs to the period after the war with the Yuuzhan Vong. A border confrontation between the Chiss and the Killiks threatens to escalate into a new galactic conflict, while the Killiks themselves seek to absorb all living things into a single hive mind. Luke Skywalker summons the knights of the New Jedi Order from across the galaxy, since resolving the conflict and countering the Dark Nest falls to the Order.

The trilogy belongs to the Expanded Universe and is now part of Legends. It links The New Jedi Order series to the subsequent Legacy of the Force cycle: it is in these books that the reorganized Jedi Order takes shape and the heroes' storylines developed in later novels are set in motion.
