Yoda tries to bring his apprentice back from the dark side, but the conversation breaks down with the arrival of Kenobi and Skywalker and turns into a duel, and Dooku escapes together with Ventress.
c. 19 BBYAsajj Ventress kills Masters Jai Maruk and Maks LeemDiscovering the ruse with Yoda's double, the dark Jedi Asajj Ventress intercepts the real Grand Master at the Phindar spaceport. Masters Jai Maruk and Maks Leem, who were escorting Yoda, are killed in the fight with her and the battle droids, and their Padawans continue on with Yoda.
19 BBYGrievous destroys refugee ships at BelderoneHaving cracked the Separatist code through a captured transmitter, Republic intelligence thwarts the invasion of Belderone. Realizing that the battle is lost, General Grievous fires on the evacuation ships before withdrawing: more than ten thousand people are killed, including twenty-seven Jedi.

A search party of troopers and Padawans makes its way through the tunnels from Sidious's lair to the Senate District and emerges at the 500 Republica skyscraper, but the operation is cut short by the start of the attack on Coruscant.
19 BBYDeath of Senator Fang Zar on AlderaanThe Emperor orders Vader to capture Fang Zar, the troublesome senator from Sern Prime. The Dark Lord catches up with the fugitives on Alderaan just as they are preparing to leave and kills the senator with his lightsaber; his companions manage to save the badly wounded Jula, Roan Shryne's mother.
19 BBYFall of Kashyyyk and death of Roan ShryneImperial assault forces land on Kashyyyk, where the surviving Jedi fight side by side with the Wookiees. Roan Shryne takes on Vader to let Olee Starstone escape and is killed; Chewbacca gets the remaining Jedi away, and the planet falls under the Empire's control.
19 BBYVader investigates the unexecuted order on MurkhanaA few weeks after the fall of the Jedi Order, the Emperor sends his apprentice to Murkhana: some of the clones failed to finish exterminating the Jedi. The only survivors are the former Jedi General Dass Jennir and the scout Bomo Greenbark, who make their way to the spaceport and, unable to find their fellow Nosaurians' families, arrange help with the crew of a passing ship.
c. 18 BBYDeath of Kento Marek and the emergence of the secret apprenticeVader arrives on Kashyyyk on the trail of a Jedi protecting the Wookiees and kills Kento Marek. Discovering that the dead man's young son is unusually strong, the Dark Lord kills his own subordinates, takes the boy, and secretly raises him behind the Emperor's back as an apprentice under the name Starkiller.
c. 10 BBYHan Solo escapes from Garris ShrikeA young man raised on a pirate ship under the rule of Garris Shrike decides to run away and hire on as a pilot on Ylesia. The escape is discovered; in the fight, the Wookiee cook Dewlanna mortally wounds Shrike but is killed herself, and her pupil leaves the ship on a cargo run, taking with him a knowledge of the Wookiee language.
c. 5 BBYChewbacca's life debt to Han SoloA smuggler discharged from Imperial service runs into a Wookiee whom he saved from slavers and who now considers himself bound by a life debt. On Nar Shaddaa, the partners find work with a smuggler pilot and then enter the service of the Hutts Jabba and Jiliac.
3 BBYDeath of Shaak Ti on FeluciaVader's secret apprentice tracks down on Felucia a Togruta master who survived the extermination of the Jedi and was training local Force-sensitives. She sends her Padawan into hiding and gives battle near a sarlacc's nest, but loses, and before dying warns the victor that the Sith always betray one another.
c. 3 BBYSearch for the Mindharp in the Rafa systemHaving won the droid Vuffi Raa at sabacc, the gambling entrepreneur sets out to claim a prize in the Rafa system, where he is arrested on a trumped-up charge. The governor and a sorcerer of Tund force him to search for the Mindharp, an ancient artifact of the vanished Sharu race, giving him a miniaturized Key.
2 BBYCorellian Treaty and the Imperial trapOn Corellia, scattered groups opposed to the Empire sign a treaty establishing a unified military coalition. As soon as the document is declared ratified, Imperial troops seize the building: the meeting was a staged trap, and the “Jedi” accompanying the conspirators reveals himself as Vader's apprentice.
c. 2 BBYHan Solo wins the Millennium FalconAt a sabacc tournament in Cloud City, the smuggler beats the former owner of a YT-1300 light freighter in the final game and wins the ship. He then begins modifying the vessel for smuggling and, with his partner, stops at Kashyyyk, where the partner is getting married.
1 BBYVirus outbreak on the prison barge PurgeBecause of an engine failure, an Imperial prison barge docks with an abandoned Star Destroyer, and a boarding party brings an unknown contagion aboard. Almost the entire crew and the prisoners die and turn into aggressive undead; only a handful of people survive, including two smuggler prisoners.
