Scarif

Scarif is a tropical Outer Rim planet with turquoise shallows, sandy islands, and palm groves. The Empire declared the system a restricted zone and turned the world into a center for storing secret information.

The main structure was the Citadel — an archive tower where the design materials of Imperial programs were held on data storage media. The planet was protected by a planetary shield and an orbital gate that let ships through only with an access code, while the surface was guarded by a garrison of shoretroopers.

A small group of rebels infiltrated the complex and transmitted the battle station plans to orbit; the Alliance fleet covering the operation breached the shield in a battle in orbit. Immediately afterward the station was used against the planet itself, and its surface, along with the base, was destroyed.
