Description
A planet of the Outer Rim near the borders of the Tion Cluster. The world was famous for its natural beauty, with black beaches, vast oceans, and coral reefs, and in the last years of the Republic it was a major resort destination.
In the Clone Wars, Murkhana served as the headquarters of the Corporate Alliance and became a Separatist stronghold. The Republic subjected the planet to an orbital bombardment, burning out the enemy's hiding places; the consequence was the complete collapse of the ecosystem, with acid rain, quicksand, and stagnant toxic pools.
In the Imperial era, the impoverished and polluted planet suffered from Imperial sanctions and became a haven for smugglers and crime bosses, among them the Sugi Faazah. In 14 BBY, the rebel leader Berch Teller stole Moff Tarkin's corvette Carrion Spike while Tarkin and Darth Vader were inspecting a communications storage facility in the city of Murkhana.
