Centerpoint Station

Centerpoint Station is an ancient space station known to the Killiks as Qolaraloq, or the Engine of Worlds, and to members of the Executive Secretariat as C-point. Its distinctive feature is the ability to move entire planets by means of giant tractor beams. The station was created by the Thuruht swarm around 100,000 BBY and was considered one of the oldest artifacts known to the Jedi by the era of the Yuuzhan Vong War.

At 100 kilometers wide and 350 kilometers long, Centerpoint exceeded the first Death Star in size. The station could “capture” objects on the scale of planets, stars, and even black holes and move them within a considerable radius of operation, and could also use the same power to destroy stars and planets, collapsing their cores with gravitational disturbances. It is believed that with its help the Celestials created entire star systems, including the Corellian system, using planetary repulsors.

For millennia the station was inhabited, and its tractor beam lay idle. Later Centerpoint repeatedly found itself at the center of major crises: during the Galactic Civil War, Imperial and Alliance operations unfolded around it, during the Corellian Crisis the station generated an interdiction field and jammed communications, and in the Yuuzhan Vong War its power was used in the Battle of Fondor.

During the Second Galactic Civil War, Centerpoint was again turned into a weapon, this time by the Corellians, and a fierce struggle for control of the station unfolded between the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances and the Confederation. Corellians wore images of the station on their clothing, demonstrating their devotion to the cause of their homeworld.
