Asajj Ventress kills Masters Jai Maruk and Maks Leem

Count Dooku's plan was to lure Grand Master Yoda into negotiations. Asajj Ventress, who had captured Master Jai Maruk on Vjun, released the prisoner on Dooku's orders so that he could deliver a message to Yoda. The Order, however, foresaw the danger and replaced the Grand Master with a double — the actor Palleus Chuff. Ventress followed the false Yoda's ship to Ithor, destroyed its escort, and only through the Force realized the substitution. She then decided to capture the actor and destroy the ship, so as to pass off what had happened as the death of the Grand Master. Having seen through the deception completely, she hired the informant droid Solis and learned where the real Yoda was. Taking eighteen assassin battle droids aboard her ship, Ventress set up an ambush at the spaceport on Phindar. She failed to kill Yoda, but Masters Jai Maruk and Maks Leem died in the fight. The surviving Chuff helped the Grand Master destroy the assassin's ship.
