Change of power in Tatooine's underworld
Warning: this entry reveals minor plot details.
After the death of the previous boss, control of the planet's underworld trade passed to a former bounty hunter.
Description
After the death of the palace's previous master near Mos Espa, the place of head of the local underworld was taken by Boba Fett, a former bounty hunter. Relying on his own gotra, which included the master assassin Fennec Shand, the Wookiee Krrsantan, Gamorrean guards, and a group of modified townspeople, he declared himself daimyo and demanded recognition from the other powers of Tatooine. The new order rested not only on force but also on negotiation: Fett concluded a truce with the city's three crime families, the Aqualish, the Trandoshans, and the Klatooinians. At the same time he restricted their sources of income, above all the spice trade, which caused hidden discontent among the dons, who were counting on his removal and a redistribution of power. The stability of the new regime depended not on inheriting someone else's throne but on the ability to hold the city. The refusal to tolerate the spice trade brought the gotra into conflict with the Pyke Syndicate, and the truce with the families turned into betrayal in the midst of the battle for Mos Espa.
