Rescue of scientists on Bimmiel

A scientific expedition from Agamar, studying finds on the distant planet Bimmiel, stopped communicating with the university that had sent it. The system lay near a pulsar that hampered communications, and the Empire had at one time closed off access to its only habitable world, leaving traces of xenoarchaeological work and no information about the finds. Luke Skywalker, suspecting the presence of the Yuuzhan Vong, sent the Jedi Knights Corran Horn and Ganner Rhysode there. On site, it turned out that the expedition's communications satellite had been damaged — a sign pointing to invaders who held technology in abhorrence. The Jedi found the scientists hiding in a cave and learned that they had the body of the Yuuzhan Vong warrior Mongei Shai. When two members of the expedition were captured, the Jedi went to their rescue. Horn killed Neira and Dranae of Domain Shai, who were overseeing the camp, but was wounded and saved by Rhysode, who disobeyed orders. Upon learning of the desecration of his grandfather's remains and the deaths of his kinsmen, Shedao Shai vowed to kill Horn.
