Hunt for the surviving Jedi

The service of interrogators, the Inquisitorius, was conceived by Darth Sidious long before the fall of the Republic: as early as the Clone Wars, he kept informants in the Jedi Temple, selecting those who could be turned into servants of the Sith. Candidates were broken with threats and torture, and those who did not yield were killed; the survivors received a new name with an ordinal number and the title “Brother” or “Sister,” as well as a distinctive blade, which earned the Inquisitors the nickname “Red Blades.” The organization answered to Darth Vader and was directly led by the Grand Inquisitor. In addition to tracking down surviving Jedi, the interrogators persecuted political opponents of the regime and took Force-sensitive children. Their opponents included not only fugitives but also the organizations that helped them: the Hidden Path network of safe houses and the Spectres rebel cell with the former Jedi Kanan Jarrus, as well as the former Padawan Ahsoka Tano and the former Sith Lord Maul. By the beginning of the Galactic Civil War, the Empire considered the Jedi practically exterminated, and the Inquisitorius itself, according to available information, had disappeared.
