Freedon Nadd Uprising

c. 3998 BBYApproximate dateLast checked: 23 October 2026

The Naddist cult steals the sarcophagi of Freedon Nadd and Queen Amanoa, starting a revolt on Onderon.

Description

Several centuries before these events, the fallen Jedi Freedon Nadd became ruler of Onderon with the help of Sith magic. His remains were buried beneath the royal palace, and the tomb became a focus of the dark side, later used by his descendant Queen Amanoa. In 3,998 BBY, Master Arca Jeth and his students decided to remove the sarcophagi of Nadd and Amanoa from the capital in order to deprive the cultists of their source of influence. The Naddists, led by the adept Warb Null, attacked the funeral procession with an underground war machine, recaptured the sarcophagi, and retreated into the city's lower levels. There it emerged that the leader of the rebellion was King Ommin; he captured Arca Jeth, and the Jedi together with the beast riders had to withdraw to the Kira fortress. Ulic Qel-Droma requested help, and after a dispute in the Senate defense committee, Republic cruisers and a contingent of Knights from Ossus arrived at the planet. In the fighting for Iziz and the Kira fortress, the Knight Kith Kark was killed. Ommin was killed by Ulic Qel-Droma, the uprising was suppressed, and the transfer of the remains was completed. However, during the rebellion Satal and Aleema Keto arrived on Onderon and obtained Sith texts and artifacts that formed the basis of the Krath cult.
