Battle of Koros Major
The combined forces of the Republic and the Jedi fail to hold the system's last resisting world.
Description
Koros Major was the last of the seven worlds of the Empress Teta system to refuse to recognize the coup of Aleema and Satal Keto. The other planets that had risen against the illegal seizure of power were resisting from hidden bases, which gave the cousins a pretext for punitive action. Koros Major held out long enough for a combined Republic and Jedi force to reach it. The Republic forces were commanded by fleet captain Orli Vanicus; the battle involved the Jedi Ulic Qel-Droma and Nomi Sunrider, Praetorian-type frigates, and Hammerhead-type cruisers. On the Krath side were Tetan warriors, assault ships, and CX-133 Chaos-type fighters, whose actions were directed from a military command station. The Krath managed to drive the combined force out of the system and besiege Koros Major, which soon fell under the onslaught of their armies. The Republic fleet suffered heavy losses and retreated. The defeat was considered one of the events that pushed toward the Krath Holy Crusade, and the failure itself led to the convening of a great assembly of Jedi on Deneba.
