Death of Shaak Ti on Felucia
Vader's secret apprentice tracks down on Felucia a Togruta master who survived the extermination of the Jedi and was training local Force-sensitives. She sends her Padawan into hiding and gives battle near a sarlacc's nest, but loses, and before dying warns the victor that the Sith always betray one another.
Description
The assignment was given to Darth Vader's secret apprentice, known by the name Starkiller, raised as an assassin to destroy his master's enemies. Shaak Ti, one of the last surviving members of the High Council, was hiding on Felucia and training the locals, who were naturally sensitive to the Force; with her was the Padawan Maris Brood. Noticing the arrival of the ship Rogue Shadow, Shaak Ti realized that her refuge had been discovered, told her apprentice not to interfere, and sent Felucian warriors to meet the intruder. Starkiller fought his way through the jungle to a village built around a giant sarlacc, which the locals called the Ancient Abyss, and engaged the Togruta, who was waiting for him, in a duel. She fought with the support of the warriors and of the sarlacc itself, directing its tentacles against her opponent. Having overcome Shaak Ti, Vader's apprentice was unable to force her to submit: wounded and unable to defend herself, she stepped into the Abyss of her own accord, warning him of the treachery of the Sith. Her death was one of the last in the Great Jedi Purge.
