Battle of Peridea and the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn
At the fortress of the Great Mothers, Ahsoka, Sabine, and Ezra try to stop Thrawn's departure: Morgan Elsbeth is killed, but the Chimaera leaves for the home galaxy, carrying a stowaway Ezra and leaving Ahsoka and Sabine stranded on Peridea.
Description
The clash was preceded by preparations on both sides. The Great Mothers rewarded Morgan Elsbeth for her loyalty to the “old ways” by granting her the Blade of Talzin, while Ezra Bridger built a new lightsaber with the help of the droid Huyang, receiving the same type of emitter as in the weapon of his teacher Kanan Jarrus. The grand admiral, who remembered what underestimating a lone Jedi could lead to, ordered a search for the enemy's shuttle. Two fighters damaged Ahsoka's ship, but by colliding with them it brought both down. Ahsoka, Sabine, and Ezra reached the fortress riding howling beasts, evaded the Chimaera's orbital bombardment, and opened the stone gates with the Force. Inside they were met by night troopers raised by magic, and then by Elsbeth herself. They failed to break through to the Star Destroyer before it launched: death troopers blocked the way, and Sabine stayed behind to help Ahsoka. The fortress was destroyed by a strike from orbit, and the commander himself departed for his home galaxy, unaware that he was carrying a disguised Ezra on board.
