Battle of Utapau

In the final weeks of the Clone Wars, Utapau was under the control of the Confederacy. Having fled the battle at Coruscant, where Anakin Skywalker had killed Count Dooku, General Grievous took refuge there and, left without his overlord, assumed the duties of the Separatist head of state. Darth Sidious contacted him and ordered him to move the Confederacy's Executive Council to the Mustafar system, promising a swift end to the war. Clone intelligence established Grievous's location, and the Jedi High Council assigned the operation to Obi-Wan Kenobi, rejecting the chancellor's proposal to send Skywalker there. For a planet of that size, three times the usual forces were assembled: two full brigades, including units of the 7th Sky Corps and the 212th Attack Battalion under Commander Cody. Kenobi caught up with Grievous and destroyed him, depriving the Confederacy of its military leadership. Soon after, however, Order 66 was issued, and Cody's clones opened fire on their own general: a battle intended as the final one became the beginning of the extermination of the Order.
